A Vision in Motion

Proven Results

As a business owner, I learned that when there’s a problem, you fix it. As your delegate, I’ve brought that same approach to Charleston—holding trash haulers accountable, securing funding for Route 857, and helping bring city water to Morgan Run Road. I’m David McCormick, working for you every day.

Trash Removal

I went 18 days without trash pickup, and like many of you, I was furious. As your delegate, I took action—contacting the company and the Public Service Commission to demand better service. Things are improving, but I’ll keep pushing until our community gets the dependable trash service we deserve.

Snow Removal

Winter after winter, a few inches of snow can bring Monongalia County to a standstill. That’s why I fought for and passed House Bill 2960, creating a pilot program using private contractors to help treat and clear roads locally. It’s a common-sense solution to an everyday problem. I’m David McCormick.

Vape Safety Act

Parents shouldn’t have to worry about vape shops targeting children. That’s why I created the Vape Safety Act—requiring licensing, age verification, stronger enforcement, and restrictions on advertising aimed at kids. It protects children, holds bad operators accountable, and creates fair rules for responsible West Virginia businesses. I’m David McCormick.

Skills to Work

Not every student’s future starts with a four-year degree. That’s why I co-sponsored the Skills to Work Act, creating apprenticeship opportunities that combine education, job training, wages, and recognized credentials. It helps students build careers and gives West Virginia employers the skilled workforce they need. I’m David McCormick.

Industrial Access Road

Economic development starts with the infrastructure businesses need to grow. That’s why I authored House Bill 4007, increasing Industrial Access Road funding from $400,000 to $1.4 million and requiring faster project responses. It removes barriers, helps communities compete for employers, and creates more opportunities for West Virginians. I’m David McCormick.

I’m David McCormick a lifelong West Virginian, small-business owner, and proud resident of North Central West Virginia. I currently serve the people of the 82nd District in the West Virginia House of Delegates, where I work every day to give our communities and our small businesses a stronger voice in Charleston.

I was born in Morgantown in 1969 and grew up in Logan, graduating from our public schools before attending West Virginia University. Like many West Virginia families, education runs deep in ours I’m one of 14 family members who attended WVU, and I carry that pride with me wherever I go.

In 2013, I founded Omega Commercial Interiors with nothing more than a card table, a lawn chair, and a lot of determination. From those humble beginnings, Omega has grown into a thriving West Virginia company with offices in Morgantown and Charleston, 16 employees, and clients across the state and in 19 other states. We hire West Virginians, employ WVU graduates, and live by a simple principle Buy Local and invest back into our communities.

I ran for the House of Delegates because I believe more business owners people who have signed the front of a paycheck, made payroll, and navigated real-world regulations need a seat at the table. As Vice Chairman of the Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourism Committee, I focus on commonsense policies that support job growth, strengthen local economies, improve infrastructure, and help small businesses compete and succeed.

I’m not a career politician I’m a business owner, neighbor, and community partner who understands the challenges our families and employers face because I live them, too.

I’m married to Lisa Robertson of Fairmont, who has worked with MVB Bank since its founding. Our family includes two grown sons, Corey and Ryan Wanstreet, and three wonderful grandchildren. When I’m not working or serving in Charleston, you’ll usually find Lisa and me enjoying the outdoors, golfing, or supporting local businesses across the great state of West Virginia.

For more than 25 years, West Virginia has given me every opportunity to build a life, a family, and a business here and as your delegate, I’m committed to working hard so more West Virginians can do the same.
